Programs and utilities

Active@ LiveCD includes a comprehensive set of specialized programs and utilities designed to cover a wide range of data recovery, system management, and security tasks. This chapter provides detailed descriptions of each application included with the toolkit, organized in the order in which they appear in the Active@ LiveCD Start menu.

The Programs section covers the six core Active@ applications, each focused on a specific area of disk and data management. Active@ Disk Backup allows you to create exact images of hard drives and partitions and restore them when needed. Active@ Partition Recovery enables you to find and recover deleted or damaged partitions and logical drives, and to repair or recreate a Master Boot Record. Active@ UNDELETE provides advanced file recovery capabilities, restoring accidentally deleted or damaged files and folders even from corrupted volumes. Active@ Disk Editor gives you direct access to raw disk sector data, allowing you to inspect and manually repair critical disk structures such as the MBR, boot sectors, and MFT records. Active@ Password Changer allows you to reset forgotten or lost Windows administrator and user account passwords without reinstalling the operating system. Finally, Active@ KillDisk provides certified and permanent data erasure and wiping capabilities, supporting multiple international security standards to ensure that sensitive data cannot be recovered once removed.

The Utilities section covers a broad selection of supporting tools organized by category, including file managers, internet and remote access tools, graphics and multimedia applications, office and text editing software, security tools, archiving utilities, and system management tools. Together, these utilities make Active@ LiveCD a self-contained environment capable of handling virtually any system administration or data recovery scenario without relying on an installed operating system.
