Quick Launch Icons

On the right side of the taskbar is a system tray displaying a clock with the current system time and a root user button. Hovering the mouse pointer over the clock will show the current date and time zone.

Use the root user button to conveniently access the following functions:

  • Lock Screen — Locks the current session and displays the login screen without logging out.

  • Switch User — Switches to another user account without closing the current session.

  • Suspend — Puts the computer into a low-power sleep state, saving the current session to RAM.

  • Shut Down — Powers off the computer completely.n

  • Log Out... — Ends the current user session and returns to the login screen.

The Xfce Desktop Environment Panel, located in the center of the taskbar, provides quick launch buttons for the following applications and actions:

  • Minimize all open windows and show the desktop.

  • Open Terminal for executing command-line operations.

  • Open File Manager for browsing the file system.

  • Open Browser for browsing the web.

  • Open Application Finder for locating and launching applications installed on your system.

  • Open a predefined folder in the file system for quick access.

Note:

If you are running Active@ LiveCD from a USB drive, all customizations to the desktop, time zone, application icons, taskbar, and quick launch icons will be saved to the USB drive permanently and restored automatically the next time you launch Active@ LiveCD.
