Verifying a Backup

At the top of the main window, select Verify Backup to switch to verification mode.

Alternatively, choose Actions > Verify Backup from the main menu.

Click the Verify button to start the verification process. While verification is in progress, the Verify button is replaced by a Cancel button, and progress information is displayed to its left.

During verification, Active@ Disk Backup computes checksums of the data stored in the backup and compares them to the checksums recorded at the time of creation. A successful match confirms that the backup data is valid and intact. If the checksums do not match, the backup file may have been corrupted during creation or storage. The verification result is displayed in a dialog box upon completion.

To interrupt the verification process at any time, click the Cancel button.
