Restoring a Backup

At the top of the main window, select Restore Backup to switch to restore mode.

Alternatively, choose Actions > Restore Backup from the main menu.

Opening an Existing Backup

Click the Open… button and select an existing backup file. Active@ Disk Backup will open the file and display the backup information in the backup list, including the backup name, data size, and a list of all partitions. Selecting an item in the backup list will display its properties in the panel below.

To view the backup description, select the top item in the backup list. The backup description field will appear at the bottom with the text entered during backup creation.

If the backup is encrypted, you will be prompted to enter the backup password. The backup cannot be restored without a valid password.

Selecting a Partition to Restore

Drag and drop a partition from the backup list on the right to the partition list on the left. Once dropped, the partition icon changes to reflect its restored status. The partition must be dropped onto an existing partition of equal or larger size, or onto unallocated space of equal or larger size.

To mark a restored partition as active, click the partition in the backup list to enable the Active checkbox, then select it.

Starting the Restore Process

Once you have defined the partition to restore, click the Restore button to begin. While the restore is in progress, the Restore button is replaced by a Cancel button, and progress information is displayed to its left, including the current operation, data processed, and estimated time remaining.

To interrupt the restore process at any time, click the Cancel button.
